Plantacea

Plantacea is a houseplant shop in Federal Hill.

Plantacea recently opened its doors at the end of September. Luckily, I live in the area and was able to stroll on down the day of their opening! I was greeted with champagne and complimentary baby cactus to take home with me—a really sweet touch! The shop is covered with plants—floor to ceiling. Plantacea offers a wide variety, and if there’s something you’re looking for that’s not in shop, you can put it on their wish list and they will try their best to track it down for you.

My favorite part of the store was their community propagation wall. At the “Swap Wall” you can drop off cuttings and take some for your own collection—free of charge! It gives you a chance to get a plant you might not be able to find, or take baby steps taking care of something you may not be ready to fully commit too!

From small to large plants, at really great prices, Plantacea is a fantastic place to pick something up for yourself or a friend! I’ve already done both :) The owner has been really kind and informative on how to take care of the plants I’ve purchased. There’s also a potting area in the store if you want to pot your plant in the moment!

I’m so happy to finally have a plant store in the neighborhood, Welcome, Plantacea!
