9 Housewarming Gifts Everyone Will Love
Moving to a new place is always exciting—a blank canvas at your fingertips waiting for you to make it feel yours. Getting used to your inner home and outer neighborhood takes time though! Here are some ideas for things you can give to others to help through this exciting time.
*special thanks to everyone who responded my IG story on this and provided their ideas—many of which are included here!!
Gift card for a restaurant/store in their new neighborhood
Give the gift of exploration! When you move to a new place it’s easy to stay inside and focus on filling your space. Gift cards for places nearby allows you to interact with your surroundings and support the businesses in your area!
Cocktail fixings & new glasses
For the entertainer or future-entertainer in your life. Give them a reason to have people over again and again. IMO you can never have too many glasses—I’m especially partial to vintage glassware :)
Kitchen accessories & gadgets
These are essential! Especially if someone is moving out on there own for the first time. Wine openers, can openers, hand mixers, lemon squeezers, measuring cups, mixing bowls, utensils holder, cutting boards—you get the idea!
Local spirits, champagne, wine
A celebration calls for drinks! Getting something local is another great way to introduce someone to the new area they’ve moved to! But no worries if it’s not local—champagne and wine are always great for a big celebration like this!
cleaning supplies
We all need to clean right? I remember when I first moved out on my own I didn’t have a broom/vacuum/mop or anything! You could give some non-toxic cleaning supplies, microfiber towels (always great), a mini vacuum, or a cleaning supplies bucket to hold all of their essentials.
serving ware & Charcuterie/cheese Boards
Give your friend more opportunities to host! Serving bowls and platters are great additions to someones dish collection. Plus who doesn’t love a good charcuterie/cheese board? Maybe throw in a couple of cheese knifes to get them started.
home improvement Basket
Picture hanging nails (with supports for different weights), a big measuring tape (so key), a level (also super key), hammer, etc. This may not sound like the most exciting thing, but it is incredibly useful and no doubt will be appreciated!
gift certificate to woodworking class or tool library class
Tool libraries offer a variety of classes—wall repair, painting, tiling, making your own cutting board, + more! These are useful skills especially for new homeowners that want to DIY some of their renovations.
bath items
Whether it be a nice fluffy bath robe or new hand/body towels (I personally can never have enough towels)—you can even get these items personalized for your friend for that extra sweet touch!
